Scope
This policy applies to our website (kamatch.app), mobile apps, and associated services for candidates, employers/companies, and individuals posting tasks.
The data we collect
Account & profile: name, email, phone, password (hashed), photo, bio, skills, availability, preferences, languages.
Applications & postings: CVs/resumés, cover letters, answers to screening questions, pay expectations, shift preferences.
Location & device: IP address, approximate location for search radius, device/browser info; if you enable precise location in the app, we use it to show nearby roles.
Messaging & activity: in-app messages, saved jobs, job alerts, interview scheduling, support tickets, abuse reports.

Why we collect it
Provide the service / fulfil a contract: create your account, let you apply/post, enable messaging, job alerts.
Legitimate interests: keep the platform safe, prevent fraud, improve features, basic analytics, support.
Consent: optional marketing, push notifications, non-essential analytics/cookies, precise location.
Legal obligations: respond to lawful requests, handle complaints.
How we use your data
Match you with relevant jobs/tasks and show your profile to employers/posters where you apply or choose to be discoverable.
Share your application details (profile, CV, answers, tags/badges) with the specific employer/task poster for the role you apply to.
Enable secure in-app messaging and interview scheduling.
Display limited profile info on public listings only if you choose a public profile.
Operate, protect, and improve KaMatch (debugging, analytics, preventing spam/scams).
Who we share data with
Employers: only for applications or when you opt to be discoverable.
Service providers (processors): hosting, email/SMS, cloud storage, analytics, payments, customer support, identity/verification tools—bound by contracts and only for our purposes.
Legal & safety: to comply with the law, enforce our Terms, or protect users from harm/fraud.
Retention
Account data: while your account is active; if inactive, we aim to delete or anonymise after 24 months.
Applications & messages: typically 18 months from last activity (employers may keep their copies under their own policies).
Verification docs (if collected): delete or minimise within 90 days after verification unless law/disputes require longer.
Logs & security data: ~12 months.
We may retain minimal information to comply with legal obligations or to prevent fraud.
Your rights
You can access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and request data portability. You can withdraw consent at any time (e.g., marketing, push notifications). To exercise rights, contact privacy@kamatch.com.
You may lodge a complaint with your local authority (UK: ICO).
Age limits
KaMatch is for users 16+ (some roles or checks require 18+). We do not knowingly collect data from children under the applicable age.
Safety and moderation
We may scan listings, profiles, and messages for spam/fraud and to enforce our Community Guidelines. If you report another user, we process related data to investigate.
Security
We use technical and organisational measures: encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, limited retention, and vendor due-diligence. No system is 100% secure; please keep your password confidential.
Marketing & communications
With your consent (or where permitted by law), we send job alerts, product updates, and offers. You can opt out via account settings or the unsubscribe link. Service emails (e.g., password reset, critical notices) are still sent.

We use:
Essential cookies (required for login, security).
Analytics cookies (with consent) to understand usage.
Advertising/remarketing cookies (only if enabled and with consent).

Listings may link to employer sites; embedded content behaves as if you visited that site. Their privacy terms apply.
Data shared in comments/media (website)
If you comment or upload images, be mindful of EXIF/location data. Public elements may be visible to others.
